First XI Player-coach needed. NW England

First XI Player-Coach
Timperley Mens 1st XI of the North of England Hockey League are looking to recruit an ambitious and determined PLAYER-COACH for the 2010/11 season to support our current Head Coach.
Timperley was one of the first in the North region to achieve Clubmark status in 2005 and those principles are now embedded within our Club strategy and we were successfully re-accredited last year.
Over the last 5 or 6 years we have invested significant resources in the development of our Junior Hockey Academy and we now have almost 100 young persons attending on a weekly basis between the ages of 8 and 16 - many have achieved representative honours at county, regional and higher levels within their age group.
There is a strong volunteer/parent support network, some of whom have administrative roles for our club teams at different age groups. In parallel, over those 6 years, we have gradually integrated our young players through our lower teams up to 2nd XI level who now regularly field up to six Under 16's.
The challenge for us now is build on that opportunity and introduce those young players to our first XI squad whilst at the same time improving the playing performance of our established squad members.
We now wish to recruit a PLAYER-COACH who can work with our existing management team and provide direction and leadership on the pitch. The entire focus of the post will be the First XI, working with the squad as a whole and positively influencing the style of play. It requires a commitment to Saturday league matches, (occasionally Sundays) and pre-season and mid-week training.
We are looking for playing experience at a National League or representative level who can also demonstrate leadership, inspiration and vision.
Whilst a coaching qualification would be an advantage - this post would also suit a player looking to start out on a coaching career at a competitive level.
This is a 'paid position' and we would expect to negotiate a fair and attractive fee package that could include travel expenses, costs associated with gaining a coaching qualification and possibly accommodation. It will reflect the seniority and importance we attach to the role.

The University of Ulster (Northern Ireland) is pleased to announce that once again, two international hockey scholarships will be offered for the 2010/2011 season.
The University will award these two scholarships to high level female hockey players who currently reside outside of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In the year 2007 and 2008 I was Goalkeepers Coach of National Senior and Junior Hockey Teams, and also I was the Goalkeepers coach of Pakistan hockey team in Beijing Olympics 2008, and I was coach of PHF Hockey Academy ( Karachi ) in 2007-8, I have participated in so many FIH and PHF coaches' clinics in Pakistan .
